Valley VOTE Announces signature Count – 205,000 signatures

The San Fernando Valley concluded its historic petition drive calling for a study of Valley Cityhood on November 25th with over 205,000 signatures. State law requires the Valley to collect signatures from 25% of the registered voters which in the case of the Valley is 131,750 signatures to initiate the study that could lead to a vote on Secession. With 205,000 signatures Valley VOTE believes it has sufficient signatures for the petition to qualify. The Valley with 1.4 million residents represents 35% of the population and 50% of the geographic area of Los Angeles. The Valley would become the sixth largest city in America.

Heads up on important upcoming media events;

On Sunday December 6th, the Valley will hold a Victory Celebration. The Victory Celebration, hailed as the grandest Baby shower ever, possibly giving birth to the 6th largest city in America will celebrate the successful completion of the petition drive. The event starts at 1:00pm however the formal program will begin at 2:10pm. The event will be held at the Valley Presbyterian Hospital Auditorium, 15107 Vanowen Street, Van Nuys.
